Sweet potato(Madhura kishangu) is a kerala vegetarian food.Boiled sweet potato is used  by most of the people in Kerala  as an evening snacks.Try sweet potato masala curry.

Prep.time: 10 to 15 minutes
Cook time: 10 to 15 minutes

2cup boiled sweet potato (when we boiled it add little salt)- (cut into small pieces)
1large onion-finely sliced
1large tomatto-finely sliced
8 flakes of garlic-cut into small pieces
1small piece of ginger-cut into pieces
8 green chilli-slit lengthwise
1"cinnamon stick(karuvapatta)-2to3pieces
1tsp chilli powder
1/2tsp turmeric powder
1/2tsp pepper powder
1/2tsp sweet fennel/aniseed/perum jeerakam
1/4tsp garam masala powder
1/4tsp mustard seeds
2tsp curry leaves
4tsp coriander leaves
3tbsp cocanut oil/any refined oil
Salt to taste.


Heat a pan with cocanut oil.Add mustard seeds,green chilli,garlic-ginger pieces,curry leaves stir well.Add sliced onion stir well till brown.Add chillie powder,turmeric powder,pepper powder,sweet fennel powder,garam masala powder,cinnamon pieces and sliced tomatto.Add 1/4 cup of water,when it boil add sweet potato and cook for 5minutes.Sweet potato masala curry is ready.
